How to move KVT to a Stellar-compatible wallet?

If you want to control the private keys to the address where your Kinesis Velocity Tokens (KVT) are stored, you can use a Stellar-compatible wallet. This includes options like Lobstr, Ledger, Solar Wallet or StellarTerm.

If you prefer Kinesis to manage the keys, you can keep your KVT in your Kinesis account.

Step 1: Establish a KVT Trustline

  • First, you need to establish a trustline for Kinesis Velocity Tokens (KVT) between your Stellar wallet and Kinesis account, by following the steps in this walkthrough.

Setting up a trustline is necessary for Kinesis users who intend to hold their KVTs on a Stellar wallet outside of the Kinesis platform. Without an established trustline, sending KVT to the Stellar wallet will fail.

Step 2: Copy your Stellar wallet address

  • Copy the address from your Stellar-compatible wallet where you want to send the KVT.

Step 3: Ensure sufficient KVT in your Kinesis account

  • KVT withdrawal fees are paid in KVT. You need a small amount of KVT in your Kinesis account to cover the transaction fee for transferring the asset.

Step 4: Initiate the transfer

  • From the Kinesis dashboard, select "Send" and choose KVT from the currency list.
  • Paste the destination Stellar address from your wallet.
  • You can save this address as a contact for future use.

The transfer may take several minutes to complete. You can check the transaction status using Stellar Explorers like Stellarscan.io. 

Click on the transaction in your Kinesis account, copy the transaction ID, and search for it in the explorer.

 

Viewing KVT in your Stellar-compatible wallet

To view KVT in your Stellar-compatible wallet, you need to add KVT as a custom asset. If you have established a trustline with your wallet, then KVT should be added as an asset on your respective wallet.
