2-factor Authentication is a security process in which the user provides two different authentication factors to verify themselves to better protect both the user’s credentials and the user’s assets.

Prior to enabling two-factor authentication, you will need an 'authenticator'. There are many supported third-party apps such as Google AuthenticatorDuo, and Microsoft Authenticator.

Once you have downloaded and set up your preferred authenticator, you're ready to begin enabling two-factor authentication on your Kinesis account.

Step 1. To set up 2FA log into your account and navigate to the Settings page, which can be accessed by clicking on your profile icon in the top right corner of your dashboard.

Step 2. You may then proceed to the Security tab, scroll down to the 2-Factor Authentication section and click Setup.

Step 3. Download the authenticator app on your mobile phone, allowing you to authorise your login from a 2nd device. There are many free 3rd party authenticator apps available on the market, with the most popular being: Google AuthenticatorDuo, and Microsoft Authenticator.

Step 4. Scan the QR code which is generated using the Authenticator app on your device and enter the code generated.

Please note: The QR code displayed is an example only, your own unique QR code will reside in your Kinesis account.
