Kinesis cashback has many easy-to-use features, such as an option to include tips when paying at the many supported restaurants. From within the cashback tab, you can keep track of your spending habits and total savings. You can also purchase digital cashback vouchers as gift cards for friends and family and send them instantly via email all while earning a 3% return on each purchased voucher.
How to use and manage Cashback on the Kinesis platform?
Every KYC-verified Kinesis account (Individual and Business) residing in the US has automatic access to the cashback feature, located at the left-side navigation bar of your Kinesis account. After clicking the CASHBACK tab, you’ll go through the 3-step onboarding process, introducing you to the cashback feature.
For mobile users, the Cashback functionality is located at the bottom of the screen, between the Card and Settings options.
From there, you’ll be able to access the full list of participating retailers and services, with the option of browsing by category, as well as online and in-store merchants.
You can pick your favourites among 9 categories: Food, Retail, Apparel, Travel, Home Improvement, Entertainment, Beauty, Gifts and Pets.
You can now easily select a specific voucher and type the exact amount you wish to purchase in US dollars, which then calculates the amount you will have to pay in KAU or KAG, depending on your preference.
From there, you can additionally add the tip amount, for example, if you’re paying your bill at one of the participating restaurants. The tip amount gets added to the total voucher value.
Importantly, every voucher purchase earns you a 3% cashback in physical gold or silver.
Your purchased voucher will be automatically stored in the My Voucher tab. You can redeem it instantly, or keep it for later.
From here, you can keep track of your spending habits and saving totals, with your lifetime purchases and monthly earnings listed at the top of the page. Clicking the specific information box will expand the transaction details, allowing you to see all your purchases and find out how much you have already saved for each specific voucher.
Selecting a transaction from either the "Active" or "Redeemed" section will allow you to see all the voucher details about the card and the history of each purchase.
How can I redeem my cashback voucher online and in-store?
Using your cashback voucher in-store:
After the digital voucher arrives in your Kinesis Account, you’ll be given instructions for redemption. The redemption code is usually sent as either a QR Code, Barcode or a number. This varies from one retailer to another, as not all 3 are always supported by a particular merchant.
For example, at times, you might be asked to write the voucher card number and PIN number down on your restaurant’s receipt. Other times a cashier will scan your QR code at the till. On most occasions, you need to redeem it manually to complete the transaction.
Each retailer has its own individual approach so the best advice is to simply allow the Kinesis App to guide you through the process - as long as you follow the instructions in the app, you'll be fine.
Using your cashback voucher online:
The Kinesis cashback voucher works just like any regular digital gift card and can be easily redeemed online if the participating merchant has a "gift card" or “voucher” field on their checkout page online.
All you need to do is to copy & paste or type the code into the voucher field on the participating merchant's website and follow the instructions for completing your purchase. If the additional PIN number authorisation is ever required, the confirmation screen should pop up automatically.
How do I redeem my voucher on Groupon?
Some services-offering sites may have a different way to check out using a gift card voucher as the payment method. For example, the Groupon checkout page does not include such an option. First, you'll need to redeem your gift card voucher on the Groupon redemption page.
Simply put your mouse cursor over your account’s profile name, and from the drop-down box, select “Redeem Gift Card”. Your voucher balance will be added to your Groupon account as “Groupon Bucks.” During checkout, you will see the gift card amount automatically deducted from your purchase total.
How do I update the gift-card balance if I didn’t use it?
If you have purchased the cashback voucher in the past but never used it and you would like to access it now, it can be found in the ‘History’ in the CASHBACK tab of your Kinesis Account.
Tapping on a transaction will open a screen where you can view the voucher code again. If you want to store it for future use, tap on the button that says "Mark as Available" which will move your voucher to the "Active" tab. Remember that this does not change the actual balance remaining on the card, but is for your convenience in tracking the unused balance.
How do I find an unused cashback voucher in my Kinesis account?
If you have purchased a cashback voucher and never used it, you can always find it stored within your Kinesis account. There is never a need to purchase a second voucher to complete a purchase.
Select “My Voucher" from your CASHBACK tab, then tap on "Redeemed". You will see the history of all of your voucher purchases. Tap on a transaction to open a screen where you can view the voucher code again.
If you have not used the balance of an e-gift code and want to store it for future use, tap on the button that says "Mark as Available", which will move the e-gift code to the "Active" tab. This will add it back to "Active" for use on a future date.
